Terms of Reference

The general purpose of the Management Committee of the Certification Bodies (MCCB) is:

  1. The management and development of the activities falling within the scope of the following agreement/Schemes:
    • CCA
    • CCA-EMC
    • ENEC
    • ENEC+
    • CIG
  2. The technical management of the agreement/Schemes.
  3. The management of the competence of the CBs and TLs through the peer assessment activities and the accreditations.

  

To pursue its general purpose, the activities of the MCCB include:

  1. To prepare and issue Rules of Procedures and Operational Documents for the Schemes.
  2. To set rules for, and decide on, the acceptance of Certification Bodies and Test Laboratories.
  3. To set the scope of the Schemes and maintain lists of the standards covered by the different CBs and TLs.
  4. To set operating procedures and general matters linked with peer assessment and accreditations.
  5. To liaise with the IEC Conformity Assessment Schemes in the area of common activities.
  6. To monitor and manage the activities of the Operational Staff Meetings (OSMs) through the OSM Policy Committee.
  7. All other activities that the MCCB deems necessary for the good management and development of CCA, CCA-EMC, ENEC, ENEC+ and CIG, such as, among others, the fight against the counterfeiting of products and marks and the maintaining and developing of an effective communication between Signatories and Stakeholders.
